Im gay. So this postal survey feels a bit gross because you turn on the TV, log on to FB and overhear bus convos of people assessing what they think of you. Theyre scary? Theyre bad parents? Theyll taint marriage? Theyre annoying how militant they are when seeking equality, right? But I dont feel like this regularly. Itll soon be over. If I was an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, however, all this scrutiny would be neverending. It seems like were having an informal plebiscite about them on TV, on FB, on buses every other week. Should they be allowed to drink? Should we cut their welfare? Should we destroy their religious site for a coal mine? Do they deserve an apology? Did that Black kid deserve to die? Theyre annoying how 'militant they are when seeking equality, right? Theyre in the court of public opinion all the time. Man, that would chip away at you.

Its a privilege Im only getting a small taste of it temporarily. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders get this degrading treatment and worse regularly (as well as others).*

* Im not speaking for all LGBTQI people here obviously. Some are dealing with daily shit before and after and beyond this marriage debate that Im not due to pure dumb luck.

Big Something "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

(The embiggenation of some of these images can be caused by clicking on them.)

Bizarro is brought to you today by Americas Next President If I Have My Way.

Ive been thinking a lot about Bigfoot lately, although Ive no idea why. In the cartoon above, we see that Sasquatch belongs to a family in which each member has one oversized thing. (Get your mind out of the gutter.)

Not long ago, I published a cartoon about Bigfoot and his relationship to Trump. You can see it here. The cartoon inspired me to create a Bigfoot campaign poster and put it on a T-shirt. Im offering it in several styles and colors, so be sure to poke around a bit and find one you like. I think this design is super fun and a subtle way to tell people where you stand politically. (Way out in the wilderness where its safe. Relatively)  As always, your purchase helps keep the lanterns full of oil here at Rancho Bizarro so we can keep poking the Orange Menace with our cartoon swords late into the night. Please also consider forwarding the link to folks whom you think might like the shirt! See the wonderful, aformentioned product here.

Some other funny shirts are in my store, too, so fish around a bit. So far, I have two pages of stuff. Here is my stores homepage with the rest of the products.

There is More Than One Truth in Myanmar? "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

Cartoonists responds to what they see in the news. When different news sources tell different stories, these stories are reflected in cartoons. In this case, international cartoonists clash with cartoonists from Myanmar over the Rohingya crisis.

Our cartoonists have been drawing many cartoons on the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar in the past few weeks. As criticism of Aung San Suu Kyi mounted, cartoons began the mirror this criticism, for instance by making references to the Nobel Peace prize she won in 1991. Other cartoonists contrasted Buddhism, usually perceived as a very peaceful religion, with the violent military campaign against the Rohingya. All these perspectives come from international cartoonists, who base themselves on international news sources:

Muslim_of_the_rohingyas__naji_benajiMoroccan cartoonist Naji Benaji criticizes Aung San Suu Kyi's silence.

Aung_san_suu_kyi___amorimAmorim from Brazil draws Aung San Suu Kyi in a sea of blood, sitting on an island made of her Nobel Peace Prize.

"You're Fired!" - Stratu Fired From Xerography Debt "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

from: Davida G. Breier
to: Stuart Stratu
date: Mon, Sep 18, 2017 at 3:53 AM

Stuart,
I've been considering some of what you've been saying online for a while. I'm not going to engage in an argument on Facebook, Instagram, etc., life is too short for that. I see that you have clear views that are antithetical to mine. They are also antithetical to Xerography Debt. The very foundation of XD was to help amplify and give voice to people who had been marginalized by mainstream media. For that reason, I'm not going to be running reviews from you going forward. You have your own publishing platforms and I wish you well with them.
I feel differences of opinion can be healthy, especially if people can talk with one another. I don't feel that views that support the physical and economic harm to other people are an opinion. I'm sure this email will now have me labeled as a leftist idiot, sjw, feminazi, or some other pejorative. I simply don't care. I do care about the people who are harmed because of the color of their skin, their gender, who they love, and all of the other aspects of human existence that the "alt-right" feel they have the right to attack. You have your moral stance, this is mine.

ive been drawing cartoons and producing graphics for... "IndyWatch Feed Comics"

ive been drawing cartoons and producing graphics for activist campaigns for about a decade now. the vast majority of this work is unpaid, because most of the organisations i work with are volunteer-based w no budgets. and as for audiences, just about everyone who has engaged with my work over the years hasnt had to pay for it. which is great! thats how id like it to be. but now im asking for some money, even just a couple of bucks a month, so that i can avoid a day job chewing through my hours, and am able to keep producing new work.

if i can raise enough money, i would like to be able to make the following things happen:

- produce and post large format street posters supporting grassroots political campaigns

- print 4,000 concertina-style card prints demystifying unions and collectivism. these would be very cheap for people to purchase, and distributed widely.

- produce drawings responding to industrial events as they take place, and make them available for campaigns to use for free.

- design and paint a 50 metre wide political mural in the melbourne CBD

- interview organisers and subsequently produce a raft of unlicensed Creative Commons cartoons for trade unions around the world to use for free as organising tools

- build a website to make these images accessible and downloadable in high resolution

- translate these free organising cartoons into multiple languages

- research, write and illustrate my first long-form comic book, based around the idea that weve never needed collectivism more, but weve never been more alone, to be published by Scribe Publications in late 2018

- produce drawings explaining + celebrating under-acknowledged historical resistance

if u pledge $2 a month ill post u sum junk {:-)
