The real garden shed and fence gets cleaned up part 1 "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

As most of you already know, this little rustic shed I often feature out back isnt a real garden shed at all. It morphed from a greenhouse, and today houses firewood, while becoming a cute focal point to the backyard through a sawhorse potting bench, added shutters, and so forth. What I HAVENT really shown you []

Convertible Summer Bag "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

Last week, I suddenly realized that it was almost the end of summer.

Quickly made a summer bag. You know, in an effort to channel more summeryness before the bad S-word comes a-falling out of the sky like atmospheric dandruff.

So, this bag, like so many other craft projects, has been in my head for a long time. But then I procrastinated: first, I had to go find the cord for the strap, and then hunt down grommets that were big enough for it (the typical 1/2" ones on the notions wall of JoAnn and Hobby Lobby were too small) that also didn't require an expensive Installation Tool that I might use only a couple times before it joined the other obsolete sewing gadgets I've collected in my lifetime.

sewing: rayon lycra french terry tallinn sweater "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

This post in written by Meg of Cookin and Craftin.

Sorry for the post overload here, folks, but Rachael just keeps stocking the shop with so many gorgeous fabrics cant stop, wont stop! And today Im back with this rayon lycra french terry Tallinn sweater for you!

Todays fabric, in honor of rayon week, is this gorgeous rayon lycra french terry. Yall, this might be the softest fabric I have ever sewn! The rayon content helps it to be squishy and drapey, while the lycra in there gives it great recovery; which we all know is mandatory.

Also, the color is truly stunning. Its quite vibrant in real life, much more so than on the screen. A rich teal reminiscent of peacock tails. I love a good jewel tone!

So what did I make with it? After sewing up my first version of the Hey June Tallinn sweater a few months ago, I knew there would be more of them for me what a great pattern!

I love the Tallinns asymmetrical, angled cross front and the turtle and cowl neck options. Perfect for fall! Plus, since I sewed my first Tallinn from a drapey sweater knit, I knew the rayon lycra french terry would work great with the Tallinn pattern.

Afionas - The Edenic Garden of Corfu "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

Afionas is the Edenic Garden of Corfu. It is a traditional village nested on cliff tops and when you enter it, it is like entering another world. You are greeted by lovely whitewashed houses with Hellenic blue doors crowned by purple and magenta bougainvilleas which are like a trademark of the village.
Stone paved alleys embraced by canopies of flowers hide lovely houses with amazing gardens. A peek through the gates reveal breathtaking and well kept gardens, while the whole village, offers staggering views wherever you turn.
There are many charming shops in the village with unique products and souvenirs.  Restaurant sand cafes with exquisite panoramic views.

How to Figure Out Where to Put the Bail or Hole, for an Asymmetrical Pendant to Hang Straight? "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

by Ann Howington. (Denton, TX) I am making a number of asymmetrical pendants that cannot use a bail or jump ring in the exact center of the top edge. Is there a tool to figure out where the pendant balances correctly, thus where the bail or hole should go to hang it correctly? Thank you. []

Rate the Dress: a butterfly ballgown, ca 1865 "IndyWatch Feed Craft"

Last weeks purple velvet aestheticism inspired reception gown / tea gown proved very popular, with many of you commenting that you loved it because you could actually imagine wearing it.  It did loose points for awkward lower-front rouching (which I hadnt noticed and will now never be able to unsee!), and not everyone was on-board with the long train, all-over high-necked-with-velvet thing, or the Renaissance sleeves.  So, for lots of excitement with a few niggles, a still very regal score of 8.5 out of 10.

Although no-one commented that last weeks gown made them feel hot as happened with the green velvet gown earlier this year, this week I chose a dress that seemed much more summery in theme: an 1860s ballgown of butterfly patterned chin silk.
